Shedding Light on Accent Lamps

The accent lamp is a relatively new trend in interior lighting originating as a luxury method of enhancing the interiors of hotels, high end restaurants & corporate offices.

As the name suggests, the accent lamp is meant to accentuate the lighting of a particular object or to draw attention to a specific area. This may be a mantelpiece, a bookshelf, a small side table in an entrance hall or placed behind a collection of photo frames on a small occasional table.

The accent lamp is more than a light, its light can set the mood & add to the design of a room. They are a functional statement of taste & come in a variety of forms. The selection of a small lamp shade is important & lamp & shade should be chosen to blend in with & compliment the existing decoration.

A carefully chosen accent or table lamp will reward you with a lot more than the quest for additional lighting. Remember that the essence of a room is lighting & this can make or break an interior. The careful placement of accent lighting will add a further dimension to the feel & comfort of a room.

The Antique and Vintage Table Lamp Co offer a wide selection of quality antique & vintage accent lamps. All of their lamps are “one-off” with no element of mass production involved. They are a boutique company who specialise in a fine range of styles with antique lamps in glass, porcelain, bronze, faux painted wood etc with over 100 lamps from China, Japan, England & France to choose from. All of their antique lamps are true to the meaning of “antique” being a minimum of 100 years old. The company also custom make lamp shades to compliment their lamp collection.
