A good, mid 19th century, Japanese, brown glazed,
“Tokkuri” or sake bottle as a table lamp.
The bottle from the Tamba kilns.
The Tokkuri skillfully decorated with a cream trailing slip,
known to the Japanese potter as “Itchin”.
The slip in cursive Japanese characters with the name of the sake shop.
The bottle on a turned and polished maple wood base.
A bold table lamp full of character.
