A very fine pair of mid 19th century, Chinese export,
bottle shaped accent lamps.
The long necked, blue and white lamps
decorated in the traditional Chinese New Year style.
A rich cobalt blue "cracked ice" ground
with plum blossom, reserved in-the-white.
This decoration in traditional China was displayed at the
festival of New Year and symbolised
the ice giving way to spring.
The lamps on turned maple wood stands, water gilded.
